New This Year:
Trustee Areas
Beginning with the November 2026 election, the Acalanes Union High School District will elect Governing Board members by trustee area instead of through districtwide, at-large elections. Jennifer will be on the ballot for voters residing in AUHSD Trustee Area 3.
-
AUHSD has been divided into five geographic trustee areas. Each area elects one board member who must live within that area. Voters will now vote only for the trustee area in which they live.
-
The district is moving to by-trustee area elections to comply with the California Voting Rights Act and to support fair representation across all parts of the AUHSD community. The process included demographic analysis, public input, multiple public hearings, and review by the Contra Costa County Committee on School District Organization.
-
No. This change does not affect which school your student attends or how AUHSD operates day to day. It only changes how school board members are elected.
-
Yes. While each trustee is elected by voters in a specific area, every board member is responsible for serving all AUHSD students, families, schools, and communities.
-
You can learn more about the transition and find your trustee area through AUHSD’s Trustee Area Transition resources, available here.
